無水状態なので刃物を鍛接する際に必要な鍛接剤の製作にピッタリです。
一般市販されているものは水和物を含むので、高温状態の鋼材に振りかけると激しい泡立ちが起きて地金と刃金が動いてしまうトラブルを生みますが、無水のものならこの心配はほぼありません。

※実際に鍛接剤を作る際は、製作物と炉の仕様、鍛造環境によってホウ酸と鉄粉などを適宜配合します。
